The age of the farmer
In less than one month I will be leaving Belgium for the summer to travel around the US and Canada. During this trip I will meet and photograph young farmers and others active in the organic movement, connecting through work, dirt and dinner conversations.
I will be helping out on organic farms and sustainable farming projects all started up by or involving young people. When I moved to the city I got to see how people have gotten so disconnected and ignorant about something so intimate as the food that we eat. That’s why I want to bring a story about young people making a change. I would like to take you with me on my adventure overseas. I will be posting articles on my blog throughout the summer.
The following months you can read articles on how we will celebrate, translate the young farmers’ movement, work in either the rain, sun and wind, learn new things, seek out adventure, cook great food, be outdoors, meet the people handling and harvesting homegrown food and go to all these amazing places to have incredible conversations with incredible people. I can hardly wait.
For me, this adventure will be about collecting all those beautiful moments into stories.
If you have any questions on this project or if you know a great farm or farmer we have to include in this story, feel free to send me an e-mail.
I will be leaving on my adventure on the 19th of June with the support of WWOOF, The Greenhorns, Young Agrarians, Miscellaneous Adventures, Eagles Nest Outfitters and Mile High Clothing. These great organizations and brands will be helping me reach out to as many people as possible.
Thank you all so much for the great help and support!
